Ronan & video director Ellius Grace interviewed each other for the Art to Art series!

In Episode 4 of Art to Art, Junior Brother and Ellius Grace sit down for a chat in The Big Romance, Dublin. Art to Art is an interview series bringing artists from different disciplines into conversation with one another to discuss each other’s art, creative process, inspirations and upcoming projects. These two have worked together closely for a number of years. Ellius behind the camera and narrative, Ronan Kealy (Junior Brother) in front of the camera, behind the music, and definitely behind some of the more quirky / adventurous ideas for the music videos they’ve worked on (namely, eating rocks and mud, screaming into a microphone on O’Connell Street at the early hours of the morning). Pairing a director with a musician is the first step in many that Art to Art is taking in cross-disciplinary episodes, which has always been the goal. This episode shows exactly why it works. The two artists are constantly posing questions to each other and drawing similarities to their methods of thinking and creating, even though they are entirely different mediums. It also shows the push and pull between a director and a musician (or subject) within the music video.
